Do you take insurance?

I am not affiliated with any specific insurance company but can provide you with a monthly statement to submit to insurance for reimbursement made directly to you.

Is therapy confidential?

Our meetings will be held in confidence. However, I am legally and ethically obligated to ensure your safety, and must advise the appropriate agencies, family or other persons if it appears that you are a danger to yourself or others. I am also obligated by law to report child, dependent adult or elder abuse to the appropriate authorities.

How long is a session?.

Sessions are 50 minutes beginning at your scheduled time and longer sessions can be arranged if needed. For emergencies, urgent matters or additional support, telephone sessions are available in between your regular appointments if you are unable to schedule an office visit.

whAT CAN I EXPECT DURING A SESSION?

Every therapy session is unique and individualized to best meet my client’s specific needs and goals. In a comfortable environment, we will explore your primary concerns, deeper feelings, ongoing patterns of behavior and the underlying issues that interfere with the goals you wish to attain. With respect, compassion and without judgment, I offer reflection and guidance to assist you in gaining a deeper understanding of the challenges you face and together we find realistic, attainable solutions that lead to the positive changes you wish to achieve.

HOW OFTEN DO I NEED TO GO TO THERAPY?

To gain the most benefit from our sessions, it is important that we meet on a regular (weekly) basis. In my experience, this consistency leads to maximum progress. For our therapy to be most effective, you must be a willing and active participant both during our sessions and in the time between our sessions. I may suggest that in between our sessions, you document behaviors and feelings in the form of lists or journaling. These types of therapeutic exercises can provide additional information or insight that will help us better understand the complexity of the issues you are dealing with thus assisting us with finding appropriate solutions.

HOW LONG DO I NEED TO GO TO THERAPY?

Length of treatment is determined on a case by case basis and is dependent upon the types of treatment goals. Therapy can be short-term where we are focusing on a specific issue or crisis thus treatment can end when the specific goal is reached or crisis has passed. Therapy can also be longer-term or ongoing where we are addressing more complex issues or furthering the development of personal growth.

HOW DO I GET STARTED WITH THERAPY?

You can start your therapy as soon as you are ready to call and set up an appointment and I will schedule a session as soon as possible. Are you ready now?
